Yes our vinyl dye sprays have been used for this 100s of
times.
Essentially our dyes are better than paint when you want it to flex without
cracking, like on rubber tyres.
They are waterproof; you can spray the inside of a cardboard box and it will
hold water.
You can go from black to any colour too, if your item has multiple colours, you will end up with one solid colour (unless you mask areas off).
There is no difference between Brillo and TRG brands, we offer both to give you more choice of colour only.

No matter what the application we always recommend that people spot test an
area first to ensure they're completely happy. This means completing just a
small area to finish, then testing you are satisfied, e.g. Sitting on a small
area etc.
Please do let me know how you get on and if there is anything else I can help
you with then don't hesitate to reply to this message.
Many thanks

PS I always love to see the projects people carry out so if at all possible
please do send some before and after photographs.
Hi.
Our returns process is super simple.
Just include your invoice or a note with your order number.
You must write down how many of each product your are returning and the state,
eg unused.
If you could include a note with any discussions and what you’d like to happen.
If you are swapping a colour, please include either a sample of the desired
colour or the colour you’d like us to send out.
we’ll confirm receipt and email you an online invoice for return postage at
cost rate.
If any of the spray cans have been used. We are unable to give you a refund in
full. I’m sure you can understand that we can’t sell that on as you would not
like to receive cans that others have used an unknown amount.
However if only a slight spray has been used and the can is over 4/5ths its
original weight then, as a one off per customer we can give you half the value
of that can towards a future purchase.
This is simply that we understand it’s difficult to get the right colour and to
assist where we can. We will be able to use that can for test projects in the
future so all is not lost.
But please do send a sample with the return of a used can so we can help find
the right colour for you.
Special notes:
1) you must be returning items purchased from us. The serial numbers must match
the items we sent out to you. We don’t record exactly which ones you received,
but we do know the batches that we received from manufacture.
2) Must be within 30 days or receipt, after this time period a £5 per item
restocking fee applies as per terms and conditions. (Sorry about this, but some
customers abused our longer returns time)
3) If your order was originally sent out with no cost to you shipping, then the
true cost of shipping is calculated pro rata for the returns and deducted from
the credit you will receive as per terms and conditions.

Hi
I'm sorry to hear your had a problem.
This particular problem is very rare. This has happened just a handful of times
over the years. Due to its rarity we've not been able to make it happen here
although I would like to do that we can verify what the best solution is.
Was the item new?
Read on for solutions that have worked and been reported to work. But I would
really appreciate if you could think back to the day you sprayed and the day
after, see if any of the below apply to your application of the spray.
If they do, I can arrange an automated email with a quick reminder to people to
save them having the same trouble.
Having spoken to the people in the past who had this problem, it could be any
of.
- Temperature: the day of the spray or the day after may have been too hot, or
in direct sunlight. Was it over 21 Celsius or below 16?
- Shaking: can you recall how long you shook the cans for?
- Thickness of layers: how many fine layers did you use to build up a coat and
completely cover with spray?
- Drying: how long was each layer left to dry?
- Contamination: if the item wasn't new it's difficult to know the full
history, but what cleaning took place?
All of the above I only ask so we can attempt to determine what the factors
were impacting your project.
Solutions.
Each of the following has been tried and tested by other customers in the past
when in a similar situation. I can't guarantee they will solve the problem in
your specific circumstances , but I would certainly appreciate your feedback
and they did work in the past.
1) Matt Topper: A Customer's sun visors were left tacky. All the other parts of
the car were perfect, door cards, grab handles, door handles etc were all
perfect. However the sun visor were somewhat tacky to the touch and on hot
sunny days were very tacky.
He used the Matt Topper and reported back that everything is now perfect. Even
on the hottest of days. Not even slightly tacky in any way.
He left the sun visors a full 6 weeks in between sorting with colour and the
topper.
However. The matt topper must be applied in a similar way to the way Vinyl Dye
should be, that is is SUPER FINE MIST SPRAYS. Not simply sprayed on like car
paint. At least two layers. If the layers are not fine it will remain tacky.
Matt Topper here. https://www.vinyldye.co.uk/Matt-Clear-Spray-Varnish
Gloss topper here. https://www.vinyldye.co.uk/High-Gloss-Clear-Spray
As a gesture of good will and to help resolve the problem, here is a discount
code. Apply this on the shopping cart page.
difft
This will take 30% off the matt or gloss topper and give free shipping so we
can try to help resolve this.
Only requires 2 fine layers to make up a coat. Let dry between layers for 30
mins minimum.
2) Bees wax. Two customers reported using a beeswax based polish reduced or
eliminated the tackyness. They didn't report back which brand.
3) Time. One customer simply left the tacky item for over two months. And
reported reduced tackyness and expected it to be gone completely in another
month or so.
I really do hope we can resolve your problem and your project is a try success.
Please spot test a solution rather than doing everything in case it's not
working.
I also suggest spot testing the solutions. Here is an excerpt of what a spot
test is.
What is a spot test? If you have a car and door cards, a boat and multiple
cushions or a length of cable. Simply
apply to only one item or a portion of it. Ensure your completely happy
and then continue with the other items. A spot test will take at least a full
day. The only way to check you are completely happy is to use the item after it
has fully dried!
Thanks. And do please let me know how you get on.
Adam
Hi
Thanks for your email and interest in my website www.vinyldye.co.uk .
There is no difference between the two brands. We stock both to give people
more colour choice. Also occasionally we have stock of one and not another so
it gives us all more flexibility.
Let me know how else I can help.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the message and contacting me at www.vinyldye.co.uk.
Ahh I can understand the slight confusion. Yes this is the item you ordered. We
change the title a little on the website to describe its abilities better.
On the can in smaller writing it does also mention VinylDye, leather and a few
other materials.
All of the abilities described on our website are achieved with this product.
Also do take a look at our faq. We also have an ebook now that explains and
answers many common questions.
